The “Why don’t they eat meat” comment in the author’s note seems to be the equivalent of the “Why don’t they eat pastries?” supposedly said by Marie Antoinette shortly before the French revolution (although that’s probably a myth and she actually never said it). Still, interesting fact to learn!
