Misplacement Game – CH77

Arc 3: Humanoid Village
Chapter 77

It wasn’t surprising that Xu Ziyue’s legs had become numb. Afterall, he didn’t just squat there for a minute or two.

After recovering, Xu Ziyue slowly followed behind Jin’er into the kitchen and then ate his lunch/dinner under the watch of Jin’er and the doll…..

Xu Ziyue tried his best to ignore the stares from the two; one big and one small, and quietly sorted his mind out.

Li Xiuyang had received a doll that resembled him and had cut off the right arm back then. Just now, his arm was similarly broken off at the same place and he later woke up in the body of the doll with the broken arm that Jin’er brought over.

If that was the case then did it mean that if he received his doll and exchanged bodies, he would be able to achieve the so-called eternal life Jin’er mentioned?

But if his doll was harmed in anyway……Then it was impossible to achieve eternal life.

Last night Xu Ziyue saw many rooms with broken dolls. They were probably something similar to mass graves for humans.

Mass graves were filled with human bodies while this house was filled with doll bodies.

However, the key to the doll’s death should be their eyes and it may also be different for dolls that were originally human. Afterall, apart from the one room with dolls whose eyes were damaged, most of them were dolls whose eyes were not injured.

As for the opportunity to become a doll…….It probably has something to do with the human body.

From the looks of Lu Xiuyang’s severed arm, the entire external part of his body had gradually hardened into that of a doll’s skin however the flesh and blood inside seemed to have remained and had just dried out from excessive blood loss.

Xu Ziyue didn’t remember how he managed to finish eating but when he left the kitchen once he was done, he saw that Lu Xiuyang’s body that was originally outside the kitchen was gone.

“Where did he go?” Xu Ziyue’s first reaction was to ask Jin’er. He was also the only one here who would dare ask her questions.

Unable to understand his question, Jin’er asked back, “Who are you referring to?”

From Jin’er’s expression, she looked like she really didn’t know what Xu Ziyue was asking about but Jin’er’s mind also didn’t work the same way normal people’s minds would so Xu Ziyue could only say straightforwardly, “Lu Xiuyang. His body was here just earlier…..”

“Didn’t I give him to your other companions?” Jin’er stared at Xu Ziyue’s face before suddenly coming to an understanding and nodding, “Oh——–You mean his human body? That has been moved to the back.”

Jin’er looked to the back of the hotel but from their position right now all they could see were stairs leading upstairs and the surrounding walls.

If it was in that direction……Then it was a place Xu Ziyue and the others had been to. It was the graveyard that could be seen from their rooms.

“Do you want to go see? Not just his, we have already prepared for the others.”

Xu Ziyue’s expression was blank for a few seconds. He felt that he had somehow miraculously understood Jin’er’s train of thought. But just in case, he asked again to confirm, “Prepare what? Don’t tell me you’re talking about our graves?”

Jin’er nodded, “Of course.”

“There’s mine too?”

“Yes!” Jin’er smiled very sweetly and seemed to be very satisfied. She was probably thinking that Xu Ziyue hadn’t received enough shock and added, “I have prepared the best location for you. Your gravestone will also have gold writing!”

Xu Ziyue almost couldn’t resume breathing.

Fortunately, he had managed to train up his resilience after a couple of worlds.

He wasn’t twenty yet but he already had a grave prepared!

Although he was technically already dead……But he had never thought that he could die again in these worlds.

“Are you unhappy?” JIn’er noticed Xu Ziyue’s expression.

“Unhappy…..Not really, it just feels complicated. You won’t understand even if I explain. But why are you preparing our graves? Doesn’t it go against the eternal life you talked about? There shouldn’t be a need for a graveyard.”

“But humans care about this a lot so we carefully prepared it for everyone. Don’t you all value your bodies a lot?”

Please read this from kk translates

“But don’t you dislike the others? Cough…I mean, I don’t seem to be very friendly to them so why are you being so ‘considerate’?”

“Because the desire to be liked by our master is our fundamental characteristic.” Jin’er looked at Xu Ziyue with some doubt, “Although I don’t like them, it doesn’t stop my desire to be owned.”

“But the master I want….” Jin’er looked at Xu Ziyue with some resentment, “……..doesn’t want me.”

Question: When a face-con is being subtly confessed to by a beautiful, fair and long-legged young lady, how should one manage their expression?!

Face-con Xu Ziyue could only raise the doll in his arms and apologise to Jin’er.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know if I’m thinking too much, but I like my family’s doll the most and I think my family’s doll also likes me the most. What master? That kind of play is too shameful. I have never thought of anything like master and servant, so I am not a master. My feelings towards the doll is completely pure and especially deep! My love for my doll is like a surging river, endless!”

When Xu Ziyue was done, he tightly squeezed his eyes shut and let out a breath before slowly opening his eyes to peek at the doll’s expression.

The doll who was being held up in the air by Xu Ziyue lightly swung his legs and there seemed to be pink flower petals in the background. He smiled until his eyes were curved and stretched both arms out towards Xu Ziyue.

Xu Ziyue immediately hugged the doll and rubbed his face against the dolls head again and again.

Ah…..He didn’t want anything dog blood plot happening now. BE is just that easy to trigger! A BE in a game, particularly a game where there are horror and supernatural elements, definitely wasn’t going to be anything bearable.

And if his little doll was blackened….He would be very distressed.

A nice doll like this shouldn’t go crazy.

Jin’er went off with a huff as the doll happily nuzzled in Xu Ziyue’s arms.

Xu Ziyue thought of the graveyard behind the hotel and then thought about Yan Shi and Hu Beijia who were both on the brink of mental breakdown. He didn’t know where they could have gone. Perhaps they were still feeling conflicted about the Guan Chengze’s doll.

Sure enough, he should hurry and finish his game.

But the doll…..

Xu Ziyue looked down in his arms.

No matter how he looked at it, the doll seems to also like him a lot.

Then…….Let’s try.

Xu Ziyue raised the doll up so that he was at eye level and said seriously, “I like you.”

Compared to Sun Mo or Austin, Xu Ziyue was able to say these words rather smoothly and wasn’t very nervous. The main reason for his nervousness was probably something he felt just by based on the doll’s external appearance.

The little doll raised his hand to cover his face and seemed to have fallen into a extreme state of ‘shyness’.

Xu Ziyue: Um…..Where’s your response?

Xu Ziyue asked, “Then do you like me?”

The doll spread open his fingers and looked at Xu Ziyue through the gaps. Everything was silent for a while before he slowly lowered his hands.

He looked at Xu Ziyue and blinked a few times. When their eyes met Xu Ziyue felt as if the doll could read Xu Ziyue’s mind.

So panicked, so panicked…..This feeling of being watched.

It wasn’t until the doll spoke that Xu Ziyue’s heart that felt like it was being squeezed was able to finally relax.

But when he understood the doll’s next words, Xu Ziyue’s heart rate increased again!

——“Do you like me, or do you like Sun Mo?”

Xu Ziyue’s throat was dry. For a moment it was as if it was blocked by something and he couldn’t produce a sound at all.

The doll’s eyes were still fixed on him, as if he could tell if he lied.

Xu Ziyue asked with shock, “How do you know Sun Mo?”

The doll thought for a while, “In my memory.”

“Are you Sun Mo?” Xu Ziyue looked at the doll with disbelief.

Mo Mo can’t be this soft and cute though!

“No.” The doll shook his head, “Do you like me, or do you like Sun Mo?”

Xu Ziyue replied without any hesitation, “You!” If he hesitated at a time like this, it could be deadly!

The doll smiled contently, “Prove it.”

Prove it? Prove it?!

How could he prove it…..Xu Ziyue’s face scrunched up as he fell into thought.

Please read this from kk translates

And what was going on with this Sun Mo thing? The doll’s memory contains matters involving Sun Mo? How much does he know?

And if he didn’t prove it, would that mean that the doll wouldn’t respond to his feelings?

The doll was called Mo, like the Mo in Sun Mo, but they are not the same person……Xu Ziyue felt that he should ask the system for help.

“Okay, I will prove it to you!” Xu Ziyue assuredly promised.

But in fact, he didn’t know how he could prove it.

And so, he left the doll in the basement of the museum when he returned and, under the pretext of solving some physiological problems, he escaped into a corridor without doll and started to lightly ram his head against the wall.

He was too afraid of pain to do it to heavily but if he didn’t do anything Xu Ziyue felt that it wasn’t enough to expression how tormented he felt.

So as he gently rammed his head, he asked the system, “System, why does this capture target have someone else’s memory?”

“Currently submitting player’s query.”

“How long will submitting take? How long until a reply?”

“Submission complete. Currently searching for source of the problem.”

Xu Ziyue rubbed his forehead, wiping off some dust and debris in the process before continuing to ram his head, “How long will the search take?”

“Search complete.”

Xu Ziyue’s actions stopped. He asked a little excitedly, “So what’s the problem?”

“The player revealed the existence of this game in the first world resulting in the boss of the escape game to successfully be reformed. After the world was shut down, the boss data was gathered back into the system and this caused subsequent bugs to form in the data of new world bosses.”

“Because it has no effect on the escape game, it was not addressed by the anti-virus program.”

“Game NPC data in each world all come from the same database and therefore new data combinations can result in bugs. The love capture team expresses their sincere apologies to the player.”

“The above is the answer to the player’s query.”

But then what’s up with Jin’er? Why does she have a larger body but others don’t?

Also, can I just say that I’ve always felt like those dolls in the rooms were being “restrained”? Why would their bodies be scattered like that? Compare with the “whole” dolls in the museum. Maybe they’re holding back because of “visitors” aka fresh meat, but again why the dismemberment?

And the programing virus?? YueYue basically gave one npc an existential crisis that resulted in consciousness?? and it subsequently transferred to every other one in the worlds he enters? So does this confirm my theory of the otome and escape being different versions of the same game?

Honestly why else would other players show up? This implies that YueYue’s system has a hand in the creation of the worlds. How could some randoms be able to enter it if the two games weren’t at the very least a part of the same franchise.

This is all under the assumption that the players are actually conscious souls 😳

So all the big boss’s might have fragments of other boss’s memories…I kind of figured they were all connected in some way.
