Chapter 42: Horror Variety (7)

Zhou Luo Chen that crazy bastard. He must be thinking about putting those snakes in the ducts to force him to scream or drive him out!

Seeing Zhou Luo Chen walk out of the living room with the glass box, Cheng Zhi Chu’s blood went cold and his hands and feet went numb. He couldn’t believe that someone would be able to do something so cruel and horrible to young children. Also, seeing those fluid actions of his, it was obvious that this isn’t the first time that he had done it.

As it turned out, the things in the basement that when all stacked up was just enough for a child to reach the ducts was something that Zhou Luo Chen had deliberately left.

The vents leading to the other rooms were not sealed and the scent of flowers were used to cover up the smell of the rotten bodies because he had wanted the children to climb out of the vents and play hide and seek with him in the villa!

This beast was just enjoying the thrill of playing with those children in the palm of his hands. When he was done, he would kill them and proceed to plant rose seeds into their bodies and turn them into flower fertiliser!

His fingertips had turned out to be deliberately cut. Although it was not bleeding anymore, his body still had the residual smell of blood. Once those snakes sense it, they would be able to find him almost immediately.

Cheng Zhi Chu didn’t know if the snakes were poisonous. Earlier, Zhou Luo Chen had picked them up using tongs and didn’t come into direct contact with them so it would mean that these snakes are at least not a meek breed. He couldn’t stay in the vents any longer. He must find an exit and get out. He tried to shake off the mesh cover in the living from but, perhaps because Zhou Luo Chen was afraid of the children directly escaping out of the living room door, the cover was very firmly secured and could not be opened.

And so, he had to change directions. He struggled to climb upwards and finally found a mesh cover that wasn’t firmly secured. He tried to remove half the cover with as little sound as possible and then carefully jumped onto the floor.

Before he had jumped, he had taken off his shoes and left it in the ducts, so he was only wearing socks. He had done this because he had thought that he wouldn’t make too much sound if he is barefoot.

Because he couldn’t let Zhou Luo Chen find out where he had come out from, Cheng Zhi Chu moved a chair over and used a photo album that he had found on the bedside table to put the cover back in place. He then returned the chair and album back to its former location.

The room that he had escaped into just happened to be Zhou Luo Chen’s bedroom. The layout here had not changed at all compared to what he had seen earlier. Only the wall looked whiter, so the room looked newer.

That portrait hung in its original position. The boy in the painting was smiling purely, and his eyes were bright and clear. Standing in a sea of roses, it was indeed very beautiful.

But when he thought of the bones buried under those flowers, Cheng Zhi Chu shuddered, and he moved his gaze away.

The chair that he had moved earlier was positioned right in front of the portrait and it appeared to have been placed there for a long time. The floor under the legs of the chairs had shallow dents, so it seemed like Zhou Luo Chen would often sit here and look obsessively at the painting.

Cheng Zhi Chu knew that he shouldn’t stay in here any longer but, just as he wanted to get out, he suddenly heard footsteps in the corridor. At the same time, he heard Zhou Luo Chen’s gentle voice.

“Zhi Chu, where are you? Don’t hide from uncle. Hurry and come out.”

How did this pervert come up here so quickly?!

Cheng Zhi Chu’s expression changed slightly. He heard Zhou Luo Chen come over, twist the door handle to the bedroom and gently push the door in.

“Zhi Chu?”

Zhou Luo Chen’s eyes swept across the room. Everything looked normal. There seemed to be no trace of anyone entering, and the vent was also still intact.

Cheng Zhi Chu crouched underneath the bed and nervously watched the pair of feet at the door through the narrow space between the sheets and the floor.

A thin layer of sweat formed in his palms. He quietly prayed for Zhou Luo Chen not to notice anything and to just leave.

However, contrary to his expectations, Zhou Luo Chen just paused for a moment before walking straight into the bedroom and closing the door behind him.

Cheng Zhi Chu’s breathing went stagnant, and his heart almost stopped beating. With cold hands and feet, and a forehead of sweat, he watched Zhou Luo Chen’s shadow move around the bedroom. He walked over to a corner, opened the closet, and flipped through the clothes inside.

At this time, Zhou Luo Chen had his back facing the bed. If he could, Cheng Zhi Chu wanted to climb out and escape through the door. He knew that Zhou Luo Chen would soon check under the bed and if he did, he would definitely find him.

But when Zhou Luo Chen entered the room, he had closed the door. If he wanted to get out through the door, the sound of handle being turned would definitely draw Zhou Luo Chen’s attention and he would definitely be discovered.

Zhou Luo Chen rummaged through his closet. When he confirmed that there was no one inside, he then pushed aside the curtain which also didn’t reveal anything.

The only remaining place that could hide a person in this room was under the bed. Zhou Luo Chen smiled and then bent down to lift up the sheets. However it was empty, and the boy was nowhere in sight.

He’s not here?

The handsome man raised his eyebrows, but he was not annoyed. The excitement in his eyes instead became stronger. He stood before the boy’s portrait and quietly admired it for a moment before turning around to leave the bedroom and search the other rooms.

When the door closed, the room once again turned quiet. After a while, the clothes in the closet moved and Cheng Zhi Chu climbed out of it while gasping for air.

While Zhou Luo Chen had his back facing the inside of the room as he pushed aside the curtains, he knew that if he didn’t move somewhere else soon, he would definitely be discovered. Using this opportunity, he slipped out from under the bed and quickly hid inside the mountain of clothes in the closet that he had already rummaged through earlier.

Fortunately, Zhou Luo Chen had not closed the closet door. The sound of him pushing the curtains aside also helped cover up the ruffling sounds the clothes made so it didn’t draw him any attention. Like this, he was lucky enough to escape and not be seen by Zhou Luo Chen.

If this was to happen again a few more times, he would probably be scared to death before he is even discovered by this pervert.

Cheng Zhi Chu pressed down onto his chest and his face was extremely pale.

Earlier, he was very nervous, and he felt like his heart was about to explode but, to avoid making any sounds, he didn’t dare to break and just desperately covered his mouth.

This kind of feeling was just too scary………..He would have never imagined that a living person would be so much scarier than a ghost.

After waiting in the room for a while and ensuring that he couldn’t hear Zhou Luo Chen’s footsteps, Cheng Zhi Chu carefully opened a small opening in the door and looked out. When he confirmed that Zhou Luo Chen was not around, he quietly slipped out.

The villa was very large. Except for that time when he coincidentally ran into Zhou Luo Chen, every time he heard a noise, Cheng Zhu Chu would turn and run away. Like this, they never again got too close to each other.

The villa was filled with the fragrance of flowers. Colourful flowers were beautifully displayed and even Cheng Zhi Chu couldn’t smell the odour from the dead bodies in the basement. It had been completely covered up.

The corridors were filled with paintings, many of which are children’s portraits. When Cheng Zhi Chu passed by, there would be always be an illusion that they were watching him. Their pure and sunny smiles seemed to have a shadow over them. In this bloodstained villa, it looked particularly creepy.

Unknowingly, Cheng Zhi Chu had walked into an art studio where many statues and unfinished artworks were kept. The room was filled with the smell of paint.

Cheng Zhi Chu looked up at the clock on the wall. Although he didn’t know what the time was when he woke up but from when he last looked at a clock, more than an hour had passed.

Adding on the time before that, it would reach the two-hour time limit soon. As long as he can persist for a little longer, he would be able to win.

Although, even if he won the game, he would need to find another way to find the Boss so the outcome would be the same as losing the game. Cheng Zhi Chu however didn’t want to lose the game. He didn’t want to fall into Zhou Luo Chen’s hands. At the very least once he gets out of the painting, he would be able to face the boss with his current body.

Also that boss…….Cheng Zhi Chu subconsciously frowned.

Although he had confirmed that the ghost was Zhou Luo Chen before the game started, when he eventually calmed down, he felt that something wasn’t right.

The ghost claimed that it would appear as a “human” and chase after him. For now, he can say with certainty that the person chasing him is Zhou Luo Chen. However, when he conversed with the ghost about the game, it continued to converse with him through writing and didn’t use Zhou Luo Chen’s appearance to explain.

The Zhou Luo Chen chasing after him and the ghost seemed like two different people. He never mentioned the game and he only seemed to regard him as a child, not an adult using a child’s body.

What is going on here……….Was the ghost hiding something from him? Or was it lying, and it is in fact not Zhou Luo Chen? But there is no third person in this villa……….

Cheng Zhi Chu didn’t understand. He no longer thought about it and turned to walk out the studio.

He didn’t dare to stay in the same place for too long. Zhou Luo Chen had already found out that he wasn’t hiding in the same spot and he was instead deliberately moving around while taking advantage of the sounds he made to avoid him.

Because of this, Zhou Luo Chen also no longer made any noises and the entire villa fell into silence. Cheng Zhi Chu now didn’t know where Zhou Luo Chen could be.

Cheng Zhi Chi was currently on the second floor. After hiding behind a large potted plant, he carefully checked his surroundings. There weren’t any obstacles near him, so he didn’t pay it much attention, but he suddenly noticed that he had stepped onto something sticky.

It’s glue!

When he realised that he couldn’t lift his legs up, Cheng Zhi Chu’s expression changed. He didn’t think that Zhou Luo Chen would be so insidious and would apply glue to obvious hiding places to try to trap him.

To avoid making too much noise, Cheng Zhi Chu had left his shoes behind in the ventilation ducts, so he only had a pair of socks on. The fortunate part out of this misfortune was that he wasn’t completely barefoot. If he was, his flesh would be stuck and at that time he really wouldn’t be able to escape.

Cheng Zhi Chu immediately knelt down to take off his socks. His actions had to be done very carefully or it would end up on his hands.

But at this moment, he suddenly heard footsteps coming from the stairs. Zhou Luo Chen was once again coming up from the first floor.

No matter how good-tempered Cheng Zhi Chu may be, at this moment he couldn’t help but curse at Zhou Luo Chen and his entire family. He was so anxious that his entire forehead was covered in sweat. He wanted to take off the socks, but he couldn’t make any sounds and he couldn’t touch the leaves of the potted plant, so it was very difficult.

Zhou Luo Chen walked up to the second floor. With a dark expression and pursed lips, he was in a very bad mood.

Because he couldn’t find the boy at all, his patience was at its limit. He didn’t expect the boy to be so smart and to also be so patient. After such a long time, he didn’t make a single noise. It was something very difficult for an ordinary child to do.

Could he have already escaped? Impossible. Except for the main door, there are no other exits here. The main door also can’t be opened easily and would require the keys in his possession.

Despite thinking this, Zhou Luo Chen couldn’t help but wonder if the boy had already escaped and his expression got darker and darker.

Cheng Zhi Chu crouched down behind the pot plant. Seeing Zhou Luo Chen getting closer and closer, yet only having taken off one of his socks, he couldn’t help but turn pale. He was nervous to the point that he almost couldn’t breathe.

At this moment, an urgent sounding doorbell sound could be heard from downstairs. At the same time, there were also strong knocks on the main door. Bai Xi Xing called out from outside: “Teacher Zhou! Teacher! We found Cheng Zhi Chu!”

The two people in the room were both surprised. Cheng Zhi Chu didn’t understand. How could he have been “found”? Zhou Luo Chen’s expression changed slightly, and he hurried back downstairs to open the door and ask what was going on.

Seeing that he had left, Cheng Zhi Chu used this opportunity to take off the other sock. Barefooted, he slipped into a different room and gasped for air.

Why hasn’t it been two hours? Why is it not over yet? He really can’t do this anymore!

His mentality was about to collapse, and his heart was extremely tormented. He could only hope that time could pass faster. Perhaps because his prayers were heard, at this moment bloody writing appeared on the floor announcing that the game was over.

[Two hours are up. You have won.]

He won…..? He was able to escape from Zhou Luo Chen?

Is that so. So, he really did win. No longer need to escape……..

Cheng Zhi Chu was a little stunned. His stiffened body relaxed, and his body softened causing him to collapse onto the ground. Large amounts of aftershock and exhaustion rushed over him. He could no longer lift a finger and he even a small urge to cry.

After a while, there suddenly was the sound of something heavy falling to the ground coming from downstairs. It was then followed by the sound of footsteps rushing up the stairs and the sound of doors quickly being opened. They appeared to be anxiously looking for something.

Why hasn’t he returned? Even if he won the game, he still has to face Zhou Luo Chen that pervert?

Cheng Zhi Chu was a little panicked. He struggled to get up from the ground and retreated backwards subconsciously wanting to hide inside a closet.

At this moment the door to the room opened and a figure came in from outside———-

In the dark villa, Bai Xi Xing and Ji Yun Xiao waited in the room. The cameraman who had fainted earlier had also woken up and was sitting on the ground in despair thinking that he was going to die here.

After Cheng Zhi Chu went upstairs, the bloody words told them not to go out of the room and then it no longer appeared. Upstairs also appeared to be very quiet.

Ji Yun Xiao clenched his fist and his face was pale. His lower lip was also faintly bleeding from biting onto it too hard. He was obviously worried about Cheng Zhi Chu’s condition.

Compared to him, Bai Xi Xing seemed to be relatively indifferent. After remaining silent for a long time, he suddenly said gently: “Junior Cheng will be fine. We will all get out from here safely.”

“Do you have any clues about the ghosts in this villa?” Ji Yun Xiao pursed his lips and asked. “Could it be Mr Zhou Luo Chen?”

“I don’t know.” Bai Xi Xing said. His eyes showed a small undetectable hint of coldness as he said it calmly. “But I think………..that it’s not Teacher Zhou.”

————–If Zhou Luo Chen was to become an evil spirit, he would have done so a long time ago and he would have already been killed by him.

After all, he had personally buried Zhou Luo Chen’s body in this villa courtyard and had used his blood and flesh to plant beautiful roses just the way Zhou Luo Chen had done to those children.

What’s more, when his cousin killed Zhou Luo Chen, he had also helped him out.

Bai Xi Xing lowered his eyes and a faint smile formed on his lips.

In fact, how could he not know Cheng Zhi Chu? He not only knew about him, even after his cousin had disappeared he had continued to watch over Cheng Zhi Chu. He knew pretty much everything about him.

Because he is the child in his cousins painting, and also his cousin’s sweetheart that he had yearned for.

He had always believed that one day, his cousin would come back for Cheng Zhi Chu and would appear by Cheng Zhi Chu’s side.

At that time, Cheng Zhi Chu was still very young. After such a terrifying experience, he had forgotten a lot of things but he himself still remembered everything that had happened in the villa at that time——–

“Brother, are you crazy? How can you knock out Teacher Zhou?”

Seeing Zhou Luo Chen on the ground, Bai Xi Xing had an incredulous expression. He looked over at his cousin with shock: “We still haven’t confirmed that Cheng Zhi Chu was hidden away by Teacher Zhou. If he’s not here at teachers’ place, how are you going to explain yourself later?”

“Someone saw Zhou Luo Chen take out a boy from the trunk of the car and take him into the villa. Isn’t that enough?”

The handsome young man’s eyes were dark. He glanced over at the unconscious Zhou Luo Chen and said coldly: “The time also adds up. That is Zhi Chu. He had hidden Zhi Chu away, but he didn’t admit to it, and even lied to us.”

Bai Xi Xing was speechless. Indeed, when they came to see Teacher Zhou the first time, Teacher Zhou had said that he didn’t know about the whereabouts of the child. Later, when they asked around, someone mentioned possibly seeing that boy at Teacher Zhou’s place.

They became suspicious of their teacher. And so, they lied that they had found the boy and tried to test the teacher. As expected, the teacher was a little flustered as he opened the door and asked them what was going on.

He had originally wanted to test things out a little more, but he didn’t expect his cousin to knock the teacher out. It was even done quite harshly.

He never knew that this always indifferent and cold cousin of his would have such a scary and explosive side to him.

“Tie Zhou Luo Chen up, plug up his mouth and throw him into a room.”

Bai Yi suddenly said coldly.

“………Is this really necessary? This is Teacher Zhou…………”

Hearing his words, Bai Xi Xing opened his mouth slightly. His cousin’s actions today were completely different to his usual self and it made him feel very strange. It was as if ever since that boy’s appearance, his cousin had turned into another person.

“I don’t care who he is. He touched Zhi Chu.”

Bai Yi said this very lightly, but his eyes were dark like twilight and there wasn’t the slightest hint of light in it. It made Bai Xi Xing’s body feel a chill and he felt deep fear form from the bottom of his heart.

“If he did anything to Zhi Chu……….”

“I will kill him.”

Bai Yi’s Diary (Part 42)

The nightmare continued.

This time, it was Zhi Chu that fell in. The goddess took out the current Zhi Chu, the younger Zhi Chu and the female Zhi Chu. She then asked me which one was my Zhi Chu.

Although I like Zhi Chu regardless of what appearance he takes, I said honestly to the goddess that the current Zhi Chu is my Zhi Chu.

But the goddess took all three Zhi Chu away.

She said that I was lying, and that I don’t have Zhi Chu.

Ahhh, so he really did find him in the closet lol

WAIT. When Bai Yi wrote about that scene, he only said that he was with Zi Chu and after his parents came to get him, he was sexually woke. He didn’t say anything (or much) about the time he was WITH Zi Chu.

Did Zi Chu…………kiss him at that time??? Thinking he was the Final Boss????!!!??? :0000

It’s be so funny if that were true.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😘

I wonder why Bai Yi was so emotionally cut off, and why he dreamt of Zi chu… Is it just destiny? ~(or maybe system k79)
But this is when the first diary entry’s described how ml found him hiding in a closet with bruise marks.. It feels so much like this instance was him actually in the past and the boss was trying to help?him escape from Zhou creep

This once again proves that in horror series, the most terrifying chapters/episodes are the ones with humans as the perpetrators.
